Empowering Entrepreneurs: RUEA Wraps Up Two-Month Capacity-Building Program

From June 25 to August 15, the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA) implemented a Capacity Building Program for its members. The initiative aimed to enhance the business management skills of RUEA member organizations, improve financial literacy, and develop competencies in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in business processes.
The program was carried out with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO), within the framework of the initiative “Building the Capacity of Constituents to Pre-empt the Informalisation of Work and Promote the Transition to Formality in the Context of a Refugee Crisis".
Over the course of two months, 16 training sessions were conducted by the following leading experts:
- Shavarsh Karapetyan, RUEA Board Member, Co-Founder of Karapp LLC and AI Academy
- Soghomon Mirzoyan, RUEA Board Member, President of “Armenian Association of Financiers” NGO
- Vahagn Dilbaryan, Author of bestsellers “100 Business Secrets” and “101 Business Secrets”, Co-Founder of AI Academy
- Samvel Gevorgyan, Business management consultant, business expert, Founding Director of BSC Business Support Center, and Founder of several businesses
- Nune Varosyan, HR Specialist, Expert at BSC Business Support Center
- Julia Vardanyan, HR Management Specialist, Expert at BSC Business Support Center
The training program covered three main components:
1. Hard Skills Development
- Human resource management and workforce planning
- Digital skills and data analytics in business
- Financial literacy and risk management
- Expanding professional networks and partnerships
- Ensuring occupational safety and health
2. Soft Skills Development
- Strategic planning and leadership
- Effective communication and negotiation
- Change management and decision-making
- Managing cultural diversity
- Emotional intelligence and management
- Teamwork organization and time management
3. AI Integration in Business Processes
- AI fundamentals and applications in business
- Selection and implementation of technical tools
- Practical AI solutions for enhancing competitiveness
- AI industry-specific applications
- Strategic leadership in the AI era
As a result of this two-month educational program, representatives of 30 RUEA member organizations enriched their entrepreneurial knowledge and acquired new practical skills that will contribute to more effective organizational management, strengthening competitive positions, and integrating digital and innovative solutions into business development processes.
Within the training program, participants strengthened their knowledge of strategic planning and change management, developed communication and negotiation skills, and improved practical competencies in organizing teamwork effectively. They also studied tools for time management, goal-setting, and prioritization, as well as the role of emotional intelligence and the impact of cultural diversity in the business environment.
In addition, participants acquired knowledge in financial literacy, examining risk mitigation tools, mechanisms for evaluating investment initiatives, and practical approaches to financial planning aimed at sustainable development.
The exclusive module dedicated to Artificial Intelligence provided participants with innovative solutions in social media management and content marketing, designed to enhance brand visibility and competitiveness.

RUEA has been working with the World Food Programme in a multiphase assessment of Armenia’s food security system. On 5 February, 2021 we had a mini-conference to discuss the pillars around which food security system of Armenia can help develop the other sectors of the economy (we estimated at least 15 such sector linkages with food security).

The trainings were developed in the framework of TEMPUS ARMENQA and INARM projects in accordance with the requirements of the European educational system.

27-02-2020In February 2020, a conference-discussion was held on "The importance of occupational safety and health for employers" organized by RUEA with the support of the International Labor Organization.

30-04-2021On 30 April 2021, three RUEA representatives attended a meeting on the progress of the “Resource Saving and Clean Production” (RSCP) component of the “EU for the Environment” program. The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the possible application of RSCP practices based on food / agriculture, construction materials and chemical industry, as well as to receive suggestions on partnership opportunities with other interested organizations.
