RUEA Achievements in 16 years and the Establishment of "Innovation, Green Economy & Digitalization" RUEA Sectorial Union

On 17 January 2024, RUEA held a Conference presenting the main RUEA achievements in the past 16 years and the 40 directions of the RUEA advocacy, as well as establishing a new sectorial union on "Innovation, Green Economy and Digitalization". The purpose of the new sectorial union is to promote dialogue in the spheres of green economy and digitalization, as well as innovation and application of high-tech products in the economy.

About 45 participants of the Conference were representatives of state departments (Ministry of Economy of Armenia, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Vocational Training, Investment Support Center), employers, field experts, representatives of foreign embassies in Armenia, etc.

The RUEA President G. Makaryan presented recommendations to overcome the existing problems in the socio-economic sphere based on the RUEA 16 years of experience, as well as a comprehensive model for the socio-economic development of the regions of Armenia. He also presented the international developments in high-tech and green economy, and the priority directions for the high-tech industry development in Armenia.

The RUEA vice-president S. Chibukhchyan presented the important strategies adopted by the Government of Armenia in the field of green economy and digitalization, as well as the imperative goals of the innovative economy for Armenia, the role of education and the directions for the formation of a favorable legal framework.

The conference also aimed to promote the RUEA capacity building. During the Conference, active discussions were held regarding the problems and solutions of the green economy and digitalization, as well as the goals of the new RUEA sectorial union and its functions.

The Conference was organized by the support of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
