The "Decent Work Country Programme” Expert Group meeting
A meeting of the expert group for the evaluation of the outcomes of the "Decent Work Country Programme” (DWCP) of the Republic of Armenia for 2019-2023 was held on April 28.
The DWCP aims to promote decent work as a key component of development strategy and, simultaneously, as a national policy objective of the government and social partners. The programme priority areas are: improvement of labor relations, strengthening of social partnership, development of employment policy in the Republic of Armenia and employment capacity building of women and men.
April 28 is also celebrated as an International Day of Healthy and Safe Work.
The round table discussion was attended by Niels Scott, Acting UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia; Olga V. Koulaeva, Director of the ILO Decent Work Team and Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia; members of the expert group of the International Labor Organization, as well as tripartite social partners: Elen Manaseryan, President of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, Gagik Makaryan, President of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia, and Ruben Sargsyan, Deputy Minister of RA Labor and Social Affairs.
Throughout the discussion, recommendations were presented regarding the priorities, development and execution of upcoming "Decent Work Country Programme".
It should be reminded that DWCP reflects the priorities of the RA government, particularly the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, and is in line with the regional priorities of Europe and Central Asia ILO, according to the regional initiative adopted at the 10th European Regional Conference.

30-04-2021On 30 April 2021, three RUEA representatives attended a meeting on the progress of the “Resource Saving and Clean Production” (RSCP) component of the “EU for the Environment” program. The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the possible application of RSCP practices based on food / agriculture, construction materials and chemical industry, as well as to receive suggestions on partnership opportunities with other interested organizations.
