RUEA Expands International Cooperation

From 1 to 4 September, Nare Sargsyan, Vice-President of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA), and Lilit Adamyan, Executive Director, undertook a business visit to Germany.

The main purpose of the visit was to meet with Susanne Bach, Managing Director of Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft (BWMV), and Franziska Vorbeck, Head of International Relations, to discuss opportunities for establishing cooperation between the two organisations, exchanging experience and expertise, and developing joint initiatives.

During the two-day working discussions, the parties presented their respective activities, experience and development priorities. The discussions focused on strengthening the institutional capacity of employers’ organisations, expanding membership, enhancing social dialogue, strengthening education–business cooperation, and addressing other areas of mutual interest.

Particular attention was paid to further strengthening RUEA’s role as the sole official social partner representing the interests of employers in Armenia. In this context, a separate meeting was held with Markus Matthiesen, Director of International Relations at UDW GmbH. UDW GmbH is a consulting company serving employers’ associations in Northern Germany and supporting companies in developing practical solutions in the field of human resources management. The discussion focused on potential initiatives to strengthen RUEA’s institutional capacity, facilitate the exchange of experience, and further develop international cooperation among employers’ organisations.

Building on the agreements reached during the meetings, the parties will develop a clear framework for cooperation and define key areas for joint initiatives in the near future.

The emerging partnership between RUEA and BWMV offers significant opportunities to combine the experience and expertise of the two organisations in advancing the effective representation of employers’ interests, strengthening social dialogue, expanding membership, promoting vocational education and training, enhancing business competitiveness, and deepening international cooperation.

BWMV has more than three decades of experience in international cooperation and, with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implements programmes in the South Caucasus aimed at strengthening education–business cooperation, workforce and human resources management, entrepreneurial skills development, and the institutional capacity of employers’ organisations.

The visit marks an important step in RUEA’s efforts to expand its network of international partnerships and strengthen cooperation with leading European employers’ organisations. The planned cooperation with BWMV and other German partners will contribute to RUEA’s ongoing institutional development and create new opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint initiatives, and the introduction of effective European practices in support of Armenian businesses and employers.
